Uptime & SSL monitoring

Know your website is down before your customers do.

Pingwren checks your sites every minute from the outside, the way a visitor would. When something breaks, recovers, or a certificate is about to expire, you hear about it right away by email or text.

What Pingwren does, and nothing else

Three jobs, done carefully. Here is what they look like inside the app.

A request every minute, from outside your network

We load your page the way a visitor would and record the status code and response time. Add a keyword and we also confirm the page actually rendered, so a blank page that still returns 200 doesn't slip through.

One alert when it breaks, one when it's back

A single failed check doesn't page anyone. We wait for a second failure, then open an incident and tell you once. When the site recovers you get the all-clear with the downtime length. Email is on by default; texts only if you turn them on.

Incident · shop.example.com
  1. 14:05First failed check, HTTP 503. Waiting to confirm.
  2. 14:06Confirmed down. Alert sent by email and text.
  3. 14:07Back up. Recovery sent. Down for 2 min.

Certificates, before browsers start warning

For every HTTPS site we read the certificate a few times a day. Two weeks before it expires you get one reminder, which is usually all it takes to catch a renewal that silently failed.
